Our Need for Spiritual Common Sense

As we address our need for our God’s spiritual common sense, the Gospel of Jesus Christ must be the foundation upon which we build; no other foundation is acceptable to our God. Therefore, as we deal with the “Take Heeds” and spiritual foolishness, the following must be repeated. The Gospel, the Good News, the Message of all our Heavenly Father wrought in Jesus Christ contains the fullness of the knowledge, understanding, wisdom, nature, character, power, and authority of our God (Colossians 2:9). It is the foundation upon spiritual common sense is built!

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
In His love, our Heavenly Father sent His Word (made human) Jesus (Author and Finisher of our faith walk):

(1) As the “proper” sinless/perfect sacrifice for fallen humanity
1 Peter 1:18-21 (KJV) 18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, 21 Who by Him do believe in God,that raised Him up from the dead, and gave Him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

(2) As His Living Tutorial, who walked out the Scripture, explaining who He is, and exhibiting His kingdom (His Rulership and Mastery of all things)
Hebrews 1:3 (NIV) The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful Word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
AND

(3) As humanities’ Living Standard, through Whom He reveals and offers His heart, plan, purpose, power, and methodology for all who choose believe and follow Him.
2 Corinthians 3:18 (KJV) But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Romans 8:29 (AMP) For those whom He foreknew, and loved, and chose beforehand, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, and ultimately share in His complete sanctification, so that He would be the firstborn, the most beloved, and honored among many believers.

IN LIGHT OF THESE TRUTHS
Our Heavenly Father has revealed His heart, mind, and will in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He invested all He is in Jesus Christ to win and restore humanity to Himself. In light of these truths, spiritual common sense is taking all that Jesus teaches to heart. If we know that Jesus spoke as He heard our Heavenly Father speak, (as did holy men of old who wrote the Scripture), spiritual common sense would have us know how important every word that our God speaks is to the development, protection, and provision for our lives (John 5:19; 12:47; 14:10; 2 Peter 1:21; 2 Timothy 3:16-17).

Luke 4:4 (KJV) Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word of God.”

SPIRITUAL COMMON SENSE IS KNOWING WE DESPERATELY
NEED OUR GOD AND HIS WORD MORE THAN OUR DAILY SUSTENANCE!

It is by His Hand and grace alone that we receive our daily portion. Spiritual common sense is esteeming His Word, His Teaching above all things created, whether human, spirit, or thing.

TAKE HEED TO WHAT AND HOW YOU HEAR
Jesus warns us to be mindful of what we hear and choose to believe or TAKE TO HEART (Proverbs 4:23). We live our lives out of what we choose to believe, to the measure that we believe it (Mark 4:23-25).

A NOT SO RECENT EXPERIENCE
I attended a non-denominational church for a season, wherein the pastor gave an elaborate sermon, stating that all judgment (for the believer) was past, that God would not judge us at all, again. As I watched him pick out Scripture to accommodate his teaching and speak things unconfirmed in the Scripture, as he added and took away from them, I considered the things.

(1) I did not discern the presence or activity of the Holy Spirit in any of the services or gatherings at the ministry.

(2) I did discern spiritual ignorance, which explained the carnality (disregard for the holy, fornication, cohabitation…) of the membership, and the disturbing level of pride and arrogance in the “main” leaders

Our God’s spiritual common sense let me know the source of the problem was the lack of revelation knowledge of our God (our Heavenly Father, His Word (Scripture/Jesus), and His Holy Spirit).
Proverbs 29:18 (NIV) Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom’s instruction.

This lack of knowledge and spiritual common sense (ignorance/unrenewed minds) about our God, and His Son (King Jesus), (whether by choice or lack of proper teaching) prevented the regeneration and transformation of the hearts, minds, and lives of these church members, and they had little conscience or conviction about doing what was right in their own eyes (Judges 17:6)! The fallen world and satan uses these opportunities to destroy God’s people; therefore, our God does not overlook His people being taught improperly or untaught (James 3:1; Hosea 4:6).

Woe be unto Christian leaders, teachers, and instructors who teach and preach their own minds (from their own understanding) the traditions of man and the doctrine of devils because they have taken up ministry as a profession (to earn money or gain influence) rather than a genuine call (Proverbs 3:5-6; 1 Peter 5:2; 2 Peter 1:2-10).

Woe be unto Christian leaders, teachers, and instructors who have failed to embrace God’s conviction and Truth when He sends it. (He does, of course!) Being puffed up by their own knowledge and understanding, they become blind to our God’s Truth (1 Corinthians 1:25; 1 Corinthians 8:1b). They lead others who are blind and all end up in a ditch, shipwrecked, or being used of the devil to kill, steal, and destroy in the lives of others (2 Timothy 4:2-4; Matthew 15:14).

THE EFFECTS OF THE LACK OF SPIRITUAL COMMON SENSE
It is true that all woeful judgment is past for those who have made the final decision to live for God, honor His Word, and follow after His Holy Spirit (character and behavior). This pastor; however, taught that Jesus’ sacrifice at Calvary ended all judgment for believers, without the expressed need for genuine repentance, transformation, regeneration, sanctification… As a result, I watched people who believed this erroneous doctrine, dance and sing in church, then commit fornication, adultery, theft and the like, seemingly without conscience. The Scripture provides clear instruction in Ephesians 5:1-12 (KJV):

1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; 2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given Himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour. 3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;

4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. 5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. 6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them. 8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: 9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) 10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. 12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.

PRUDENCE/RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT/SPIRITUAL COMMON SENSE
Spiritual common sense helps me understand that the wayward in this ministry believed God exists; however, had not made Him Lord of their lives, because they saw no reason to do so. Spiritual common sense reveals, since they believe there were no future consequences for their behaviors, they freely attempt to use the grace of God as a cloak for sin (1 Peter 2:16)!

Spiritual common sense reveals such teachings contribute to weak believers’ backsliding and falling away from the faith, as they pursue the pleasures of the flesh. Some eventually turn away from God altogether, and leave the household of faith:
1 John 3:9 (NLT) Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children of God.

Spiritual common sense reveals genuine belief or faith in our God goes hand-in-hand with obedience to His teachings. Jesus asked “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?” The fruit or evidence of Jesus’ Lordship in a life is obedience to our Heavenly Father’s instruction and following Christ’s lead (Luke 6:43-46).

SPIRITUAL COMMON SENSE ABOUT THE COMING JUDGMENT
The teaching that all judgment for the believers (after the sacrifice of Jesus Christ) is revealed as spiritual foolishness in light of the self-confirming Scripture. Our Heavenly Father (the Only Righteous Judge) gave the following Scripture to humanity AFTER the life, death, burial, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Romans 14:8-12 (KJV) 8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s. 9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that He might be Lord both of the dead and living. 10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. 11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. 12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

2 Corinthians 5:10 (KJV) 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

1 Corinthians 3:13-15 (KJV) 13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. 14 If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Revelation 22:12 (KJV) Behold, I come quickly; and My reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

OUR GOD’S WORD IS THE REVELATION OF HIS PERSPECTIVE!
Watchmen all over the world, as we seek our God’s face (His heart and mind, with every attribute), let us be faithful to ask our God for His opinion. When everything settles, our God’s perspective is the only one that truly matters. Our God’s Word (Scripture/Jesus) IS the revelation of His perspective (James 1:5).

FATHER GOD,
We, Your children lift our hearts to You. Purge all unsoundness from our hearts; You alone can settle us, and place us on the only firm foundation, which is Your Truth. We open our hearts and lives to You without fear or shame, knowing You desire and know what is best for each of us.

As we lay our lives on the altar of Your love, breathe afresh upon us. Open our understanding even the more to the Scripture. Grant us greater and clearer revelation of our Champion and soon coming King Jesus Christ. Anoint us unto sensitivity to see and hear Your Precious Holy Spirit at work, in and around us. We desire Your will above all else.

Do all that is in Your heart, today and every day. Your will be done; Your kingdom come, on earth as it is in heaven. We wait upon You; thank You for Your strength as we wait. We fully expect to see Your love, Your Word, and Your power at work among us. Thank You in advance for all You do. We decree and declare all we have asked, as done, for IT IS WRITTEN! In Jesus name we pray; amen, amen, and amen.

Spiritual Common Sense: Faith and Focus

We must maintain our faith and focus, as we prepare the way for the return of our Savior, Lord, Messiah, and coming King, Jesus The Christ.

The Power and Importance of Faith
Have we truly considered that faith in our Heavenly Father’s character, Word, and Holy Spirit moves heaven and earth on our behalf? The only way to please God is to trust Him for who He is and what He will and can do. Our God rewards those who diligently seek Him by measuring all things by the standard revealed in Him, His Word and Son (Jesus Christ), under the administration of His Holy Spirit (Hebrews 11:6).

Consider this watchmen; John the Baptist manifested the supernatural faith of the Holy Spirit to prepare the way for the introduction and appearance of Jesus Christ, the Rescuer of all humanity. John knew the Son of God was real alive and well, having been filled with the Holy Spirit and revelation knowledge of God’s will, while in his mother’s womb (Luke 1:41).

Let us consider the assignment and message of John the Baptist, “Repent for the kingdom of God is at hand.” Modern day vernacular would sound this way, “Acknowledge every part of you that is not like Jesus Christ, acknowledge all rebellion against the will and ways of our God, and sincerely turn your heart to Him for His help to change your ways. Honor the presence of our God, His rule and right way of doing things, by following His standard, principles and precepts!  He IS here”

The Power and Importance of Focus
Have we truly considered why Jesus declared John the Baptist the greatest among prophets (Matthew 11:9-11)? Consider that faith and full abandonment to God’s ways positioned and empowered John the Baptist to fulfill his assignment. Today’s selfish, self-centered, entitled society would call John the Baptist eccentric, if not demented.

Jesus called John the Baptist the greatest among prophets, yet John did not have a mega-ministry or business, big fine houses, drive big fine cars, wear fancy expensive clothes, or have a fat bank account. There is nothing wrong with any of these things, as long as the pursuit of them do not cause us to lose sight and pursuit of our original God-given assignment. Unlike some present day messages of the church, John’s message was not diluted. John the Baptist did not entangle himself with the cares of the world (lust of eyes, lust of the flesh and the pride of life), but remained faithful to his assignment, through faith and focus:

2 Timothy 2:4-7 (NLT) Soldiers don’t get tied up in the affairs of civilian life, for then they cannot please the officer who enlisted them. Athletes cannot win the prize unless they follow the rules. Hardworking farmers should be the first to enjoy the fruit of their labor. Think about what I am saying. The Lord will help you understand all these things.

Consider dear watchmen; God gave the Levitical tribe no province of land, telling them HE would be their inheritance (Joshua 13:14, and 13:33). He allowed them to live on the outskirts of the cities of the other tribes, provided by through the overflow of the people’s giving. The Levites fed the people as God fed them; they did not feed off of the lives of people. Jesus fed the people as the Father fed Him; He did not feed off of the lives of people.  Christian leaders must return to preaching, teaching, and living the True Gospel of Jesus, backed by the firepower of heaven.

Watchmen all over the world, we must prove faithful and focused (as forerunners of King Jesus) as our God uses us to call things back into order (Romans 4:17)!  We must prove faithful and focused as we decree and declare His will be done, His way, in the earth and in the lives of His people (Matthew 6:10).  Let us ask our God for the blessing gift of the manifestation of His Holy Spirit’s faith, so that we are confident mountains will move when we speak to them (1 Corinthians 12:4-11)!

Watchmen, the Church must return to our God
The Christian leaders and believers must return to our God’s  original assignment. The preaching and teaching of wealth, abundance, knowledge, and power, without the preaching and teaching of the love of God, His Standards (as revealed in Jesus) and return of His Christ has become as clanging cymbals and tinkering bells in the ears of our God. It is just NOISE in the ears of our God! If the streams of wealth, abundance, knowledge, and power we create do not lead others to Christ, and birth a craving in their hearts for His return, our efforts are out of focus and alignment with our God. Sadly, the things He has given His people to dominate, possess, and manage are now dominating, possessing and managing His people. ENOUGH, SAYS THE LORD!

Blessed watchmen, let us be faithful and focused, as we call our God’s house back into His order through prayer, decree, and declaraton!

We are preparing the way, for the return of our King
Whether Jesus Christ returns in our lifetime or not, we must daily live and serve as if He were returning this every hour. Live, love and enjoy life, but never forsake your faith and focus. Today’s watchmen are anointed to pray prophetic and apostolic prayers that root up, pluck up, pull down, as well as plant and build in the spirit and natural realm by the authority we have in Jesus The Christ. God’s people are not seeing true salvation, signs, wonders, miracles, healings and deliverances, because God’s leaders and forerunners have left their assignments and are chasing other gods. Gods of wealth, fame, influence, prestige, and comfort. ENOUGH, SAYS THE LORD!

Watchmen, we must prove faithful and focused, as our God uses us to call His people and His house back into order.  Let us relentlessly push demonic forces into the abyss where they belong.  Let us be faithful to declare our God’s mind to His people (with the help of our Heavenly Father; Hebrews 8:11).

Isaiah 58:1 (NLT) “Shout with the voice of a trumpet blast. Shout aloud! Don’t be timid. Tell My people Israel of their sins!

Our Faith and Focus must not be Diluted
Praying God’s will into the earth, with the intent of provoking the return of Jesus Christ  is our focus and heart cry! True servants in the Body of Christ who have the heart of John the Baptist, understand this and carry it in their hearts before our God. . True servants in the Body of Christ who have decided it is okay to be considered “different” in order to walk in the faith of God.

True servants in the Body of Christ desire the will of God above  that of every other person, place, or thing and as a result, their faith and focus keep them free of the contamination of the world (1 John 5:18). Jesus said the greatest among us would be servant (Luke 22:25-30); John the Baptist was a servant of the Most High God, and His people.  May we all have his heart and tenacity.

Accessing the supernatural knowledge, faith, power, and endurance in Christ:

  • Keeping a clean heart and hands before God. Repentance is an absolute: Identifying and confessing all things contrary to the heart of God, with a sincere desire to change your ways.
  • Accepting and following the Scriptures as the inspired Truth of God, spoken to holy men of old.
  • Choosing to do things God’s way, as His Word and Holy Spirit duplicate the life and ministry of Jesus Christ within us
  • Depending on God’s authority, power, character, and nature in the person of His Holy Spirit.
  • Staying free of offense, disappointment, and discouragement. Rebuke them.
  • Remembering that a servant is not above his Master. Consider that Jesus walked in everyday society unrecognized, and when they finally did see who He was, they persecuted Him.
  • Refusing to be offended, disappointed, or discouraged when the church or society rejects or persecutes you for living and serving in the righteousness of our God.
The prayer of our hearts must be, “Father, Your rule and right way of doing things be done in my life, in Jesus name!”

Our God is restoring the preaching and teaching of His message of repentance, (confession with change) in present day society, in the church and among the unsaved. He is blessing those who will love the day of Christ’s return. We do our part in prayer and intercession. Know that God takes care of our business as we take care of His. Know that whatever we pray for others will bless our own life. God has ordained that we be first to partake of our blessings.

We must choose to cry as one voice, preparing the way of our Lord
Are you willing to be counted as “The voice of one crying in the wilderness, making ready the way of the Lord, making His paths straight” (Matthew. 3:3)! Oftentimes a watchman finds him/herself with a faith-filled prayer that they are unable to share with anyone. God will oftentimes give us revelation knowledge of a hidden truth or work of darkness and then tell us what to pray, decree or declare. Do as He says, knowing He has spoken to other watchmen all over the world. Our God is well able to get His will into the earth, if we are open to pray.

Do not stress, let us ask God to make us even more sensitive to His prompting. Sometimes a simply, prayer released in the heart is sufficient. Sometimes we have to leave the presence of others to utter a prayer and return. Do not become works minded; allow it to be an act of love and see how quickly the request, decree, or declaration manifests.

FATHER GOD,
We pray for the leaders, forerunners, and watchmen of our faith who have not bowed the knee to Baal. Thank You for the present day remnant, chosen by Your grace. We decree that the ministering angels assigned to them deliver Your encouragement and strength to our lives. Give us more of Your great grace to withstand rejection, misunderstanding, contradiction, fear, loneliness or any other thing sent to separate us from our assignment. Meet every need of each leader, forerunner, and watchman, according to Your complete knowledge of who we are. Convict us when we compare our lives with others; You told us doing so is not wise.

Show us any place in our lives where we have allowed the message of Your will, the message of Jesus Christ has been tainted. Thank You for forgiving us when we truly repent from our hearts. Thank You for restoring us, according to Your promises.

Keep Your hand on us for good. We present our lives as living sacrifices and declare without fear or drawing back, “Your rule and right way of doing things be done in our lives!” We love You. We love Your ways. Do all that is in Your heart. We lay all on the altar of Your love, being satisfied with whatever decision You make.  Thank You for helping us to maintain our faith and focus.  In Jesus name we pray and thank You, AMEN and it is so!

Spiritual Common Sense for ALL

1 Corinthians 2:11-14 (KJV) 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? Even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Our God tells us through the Apostle Paul, that the natural or carnal human, (who thinks, speaks, behaves, and judges by human senses, the intellect, or emotions) is unable to discern the things of God and His Kingdom (way of ruling and mode of operation), that they are foolishness to them. In other words, our God’s spiritual common sense is irrational to them! As one of the Star Trek personality states, “It is illogical.” The human intellect is unable to rightly discern the heart and mind of God. As we humbly fill our spirit man with the Word, follow Jesus, and yield to His Holy Spirit leading and teaching, we are able to discern spiritual things, and therefore gain knowledge of our God. There is no other way (John 14:6).

PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
I once had a conversation with a young man appointed as a Youth pastor. As I spoke to him about his role of mentorship and responsibility before God to impart spiritual truth into the hearts of the young people, he looked at me with great puzzlement. As he spoke to me, I realized he did not understand what I was saying, and had no genuine understanding of the dangerous place he was in spiritually:

James 3:1 (AMP) Not many of you should become teachers, serving in an official teaching capacity, my brothers and sisters, for you know that we who are teachers, will be judged by a higher standard, because we have assumed greater accountability and more condemnation if we teach incorrectly.

Only later did I discover he was given the role, not because of a genuine call, but because he was liked by leadership. As the years passed, the reality that this person should never have held this position became apparent, as many ungodly manifestations arose among the youth and in the life of this young man. Both he and leadership were spiritually blind or ignorant of our God’s Word, and therefore lacked spiritual common sense. Both they and he will answer to God for their choices and involvement. if there is no genuine repentance.  Both they and he have blood on their hands for the suffering caused by their decisions.

TAKE HEED

Deuteronomy 4:23 (KJV) Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the Lord your God, which He made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the Lord thy God hath forbidden thee.

Our covenant with God is that we will have no other gods before Him; that we will love and esteem Him with all our hearts, minds, and souls and that He have the final and ultimate say in our lives. This young man’s leaders were spiritually blind covenant breakers. Lacking spiritual common sense, they did not recognize they that they made an idol of this young man. The New Living Translation says it this way:

Deuteronomy 4:23 (NLT) So be careful not to break the covenant the Lord your God has made with you. Do not make idols of any shape or form, for the Lord your God has forbidden this.

What is an idol in the eyes of our God? Anything or anyone we love, respect, honor and have allegiance to above our God and His Word is an idol. This case was not different from that of King Uzziah, who made an idol of himself and attempted to step into the “office or ministry” of a priest to burn incense, when GOD did not appoint him to do so. He was struck with leprosy, unable to fulfill his kingly duties, and later died (2 Chronicles 26:11-21). This young man’s leaders loved, respected, honored and had more allegiance to the promotion, care, and welfare of this young man, than they had for the will of God, having appointed him to a role God had not sanctioned.

WARNING UNHEEDED
Even after receiving warning of this young man’s spiritual blindness, the leadership made no change. This case is likened to that of Eli, who knowing his sons lacked spiritual common sense, allowed them to remain in a position wherein they dishonored the sanctity of God’s house, His people, and disregarded His will (1 Samuel 2:11-17). Though God sent a prophet to Eli, warning him of God’s displeasure, Eli made no changes (1 Samuel 2:27-36).

1 Samuel 3:19 tells us that years passed between Eli’s first warning, Samuel’s warning and the death of his sons, as it states Samuel grew up. Even though he was warned, Eli did not repent, neither did he remove his sons; the result was God’s judgment. Both of Eli’s sons died on the same day; Eli fell over, broke his neck and died at hearing the news (1 Samuel 4:10-18).  Let us pray that repentance has indeed come to  the young man and his leaders.

CHOOSE LIVE OR DEATH, BLESSING OR CURSING, CORRECTION OR JUDGMENT
Eli’s lack of spiritual common sense caused him NOT TO REPENT! Eli, (a Levite, judge, and High Priest in Israel), who oversaw the offerings of God’s people, offered no remorse for his and his son’s sin. He only showed resignation, as he and his sons grew “fat” from of the sacrifices offered by God’s people to God. The result was God’s righteous judgment, as Eli failed to represent the heart and mind of our God properly. Let us pray that genuine repentance come to today’s Christian leaders.

WE MUST PRAY
Watchman all over the world, we must pray that our present-day leadership’s eyes are enlightened by the lessons our God has left for us in the Scripture. We must pray that present-day leadership learn from His interactions with those who have gone before for us, as well as lessons revealed in the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. We must pray that present-day leadership hunger and thirst after our God’s righteousness above all else, and value His Word (Scripture/Jesus):

2 Timothy 3:16 (NLT) All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.

Romans 15:4 (NLT) Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us, and the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled.

NO EXCUSES
(Our God’s Spiritual Common Sense is Available to All)

Our God’s will is that we hear His voice and follow Him (John 10:27). When we fill up on His Word (Scripture), focus on His Son (Jesus), and believe that He speaks to us, we will hear Him. Our God tells us, if we lack wisdom (spiritual common sense), all we need do is ask Him for it, and He will give it, without rebuking us; only believe (James 1:5-6).

When we do these things, we will see through the eyes and hear through the ears, and love through the heart of our God, and we will have access to His spiritual common sense.

WE MUST PRAY
Watchman all over the world, we must pray apostolic prayers that build God’s people, just as the Apostle Paul prayed. He understood our God’s spiritual common sense is a necessity for success in the Christian walk:

Ephesians 1:16-19a (NLT) I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those He called, His holy people who are His rich and glorious inheritance. I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe Him.

Colossians 1:9-10 (NLT) So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding. Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better.

Philippians 1:9 (NLT) I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding.

FATHER GOD
We thank You for Your longsuffering, as You have endured the contradiction of humanity for so many years. Decade upon decade, even century upon century, from generation to generation, Your love and the blood of Jesus has stayed the hand of the enemy of our souls.

You have spoke to humanity through our ancestors in many and various ways. You sent prophets to declare Your heart and mind to us. You have sent Your Darling Son, our Savior, Lord, and soon coming King, Jesus The Christ, to express Your character, heart, mind, will, power, and authority in the earth. You sent Jesus as our Living Tutorial, that we may know Your original intent and mark for all who believe. We thank You for Your grace and faith that equips us to be Your sons.

Heavenly Father, how great are Your riches and wisdom and knowledge! Without Your revelation knowledge, without Your spiritual common sense, it is impossible it is for us to understand Your decisions and ways! It is impossible for us to know Your thoughts! How foolish we are to assume we can instruct You. We are so grateful that You have made it possible for us to have the mind of Christ. We thank You for revealing spiritual things, even Your deep things by Your precious Holy Spirit.

Father, we thank You for spiritual common sense. Your Holy Spirit shows us things that are common knowledge among all who know You. Your Holy Spirit leads us into all Truth and shows us things to come. We appreciate Your willingness to fill us with the knowledge of Your will.

The height, width, breadth, and depth of Your love exceeds our human understanding; it must be spiritually discerned. We appreciate Your Holy Spirit revealing to us just how much You love us. The might and weight of Your glory is without description, yet You fill our earthen vessels. You are amazing.

We stand as Your earthly armor bearers; we stand as living portals of Your grace, favor, mercy, power, and authority declaring to the all creation, “Bow down before Your Creator, Lord, and Master. Bow down at the name, the authority of Jesus The Christ!” We stand together with Your Word and Your Holy Spirit. We lift our voices as one and cry, “Do all that is in Your heart! Like little children we wait to see Your hand moving in the land of the living.” We look for all who seek to be filled graced with Your spiritual common sense.

We pray this and all prayer in the name of Jesus The Christ our Savior, Lord and soon coming King. Amen, amen, and amen!

The spiritual common sense of our God has the power to save, keep, and deliver all who apply His Truth.  We must always allow His Word to have the final say.

Defining Spiritual Common Sense
Consider the following definitions for the term common sense: (1) sound judgment in practical matters, (2) reasonable or understandable judgment, (3) discerning, (4) wisdom, (5) insight, perception (capacity for comprehension), (6) perspicacity (mental vision) and (7) practicality (Merriam Webster, 2018).

The Scripture uses the term prudence (Ephesians 1:8), which translates the understanding, knowledge, and holy love of the will of God.  Think about this definition. We must avoid being so spiritually deep and legalistically dogmatic that we miss the common sense of God. Who, in all that exists is more sound in judgment in practical things than God? He is the only Righteous Judge who is always reasonable, with discerning, wisdom, insight, perception, and practicality.

We must study to receive the fullness of the counsel of our God’s Word, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit in order to receive HIS Truth and understanding. We must study to receive the fullness of the counsel of our God’s Word, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit in order to receive HIS wisdom, which is HIS SPIRITUAL COMMON SENSE!

As we study (in sincerity), so that our God reveals the person and purpose of Jesus The Christ.   Our God desire that we have revelation knowledge or Absolute Truth about the heart, mind, character, will, power, and authority of our Heavenly Father. The Apostle Paul tells us not to struggle continually over the past and its hindrances; rather, we should keep Jesus The Christ as the focus and standard for over lives. As we seek to know the mind of our God, and do His will, He takes the responsibility of keeping us on point; He clarifies misconceptions and misunderstandings, IF WE ARE SPIRITUALLY MATURE AND HUMBLE ENOUGH TO ALLOW HIM TO DO SO!

Philippians 3:15-16 (NIV) All of us, then, who are (spiritually) mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. 16 Only let us live up to what we have already attained.

Why is there so much doctrinal confusion circulating in the Body of Christ?
First, zeal absent of the knowledge of God opens the door for confusion. We must understand confusion does not come from God.

1 Corinthians 14:33 (KJV) God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

The seeds of doctrinal confusion we see around us are planted by satan, who uses worldly thinking, intellectualism, and fleshly lusts, desires, and pride, to hoodwink humanity into misinterpreting or twisting God’s Word, in order to present doctrine that somehow sets them above others. We must also know that our God is the Master of the author of confusion, and His Light swallows up darkness.  Hallelujah!

WE MUST UNDERSTAND, THERE ARE TWO WISDOMS (James 3:14-18 CJB)

One Wisdom is from the world, flesh, and darkness

James 3:14-16 But if you harbor in your hearts bitter jealousy and selfish ambition, don’t boast and attack the truth with lies! 15 This wisdom is not the kind that comes down from above; on the contrary, it is worldly, unspiritual, demonic. 16 For where there are jealousy and selfish ambition, there will be disharmony and every foul practice.

If we are spiritually mature and humbly honest, we must acknowledge that denominations are developed because of a differing interpretation, belief, or practice. A “we are right and they are wrong” lies at the core of every recognized, self-governing branch of Christianity. The decision to develop a differing interpretation, belief, or practice is always based on some information, that someone labels God’s (supreme) wisdom. Wisdom absent of the spiritual common sense of God, like the use of His law without His Holy Spirit will always result in the foolishness of human and devilish doctrine.

The confusion resulting from the use of worldly, fleshly, and demonic wisdom divides and sets apart in the spirit of pride and self-righteousness. Competition and/or envy will always be found at the root of the strife. Its purpose is to produce and maintain disorder among our ranks, in order to hinder the progress of the Kingdom of God, while seeking to further the agenda of the kingdom of darkness. This form of division is contrary to the will of God.

People of God, when we (Christians as a group) humbly honor God (by thinking, speaking, and living life in the Spirit of His Love, Peace, and Unity), His Word and Holy Spirit convict and purge us of fleshy thinking and spiritual sin. We discover that His leadership brings us all to the same place, thinking and saying the same thing, under the same open heaven (Psalm 133).

The Greatest and only Godly Wisdom is of our Heavenly Father

James 3:17-18 But the wisdom from above is, first of all, pure, then peaceful, kind, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy, and peacemakers who sow seed in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.

While we know God is not the author of confusion, we also know He is the MASTER of its author, the devil. Our God’s wisdom would have us walk in love, while speaking the truth to one another. His wisdom would have us agree to disagree in the spirit of love, peace, and unity, while leaving Him to settle any matter of contention or offense, expose all deception, and dispense correction as needed (1 Samuel 24:12). As Philippians 3:16 tells us when we make Jesus Christ our standard, by consistently and humbly following Him, our God corrects and redirects us, leading and keeping us in His Truth (John 16:13).

Confusion and Division are NOT the same
The Enhanced Lexicon and Merriam Dictionary define confusion as instability, disorder; something made indistinct, blurry, or unrecognizable. None of these things are found in our God. Only the Light of our God’s Truth dispels the division, instability and disorder planted by satan, and brings into focus, all things indistinct, blurry, or unrecognizable.

Our God’s Truth and Wisdom brings godly division, in that it demands the hearer choose between righteous and unrighteousness; godliness and ungodliness:

Luke 12:51-53 (NLT) 51 “Do you think I have come to bring peace to the earth? No, I have come to divide people against each other! 52 From now on families will be split apart, three in favor of me, and two against, or two in favor and three against. 53 Father will be divided against son and son against father; mother against daughter and daughter against mother; and mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.”

THERE IS NO CONFUSION WITH GODLY WISDOM.
GOD’S WISDOM PLACES US IN THE VALLEY OF DECISION,
WITH THE CLEAR CHOICE OF GOOD OR EVIL!

Our God used Moses to say it this way, “ I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live (Deuteronomy 30:19).”

He used Joshua to say, “If it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord (Joshua 24:15).”

There is No Confusion with Godly Wisdom
Whether godly wisdom comes in the form of “iron sharpens iron” wisdom, the “open rebuke” wisdom, or “the crucifixion of the flesh” wisdom, it always, always leads to love, joy, peace, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, meekness, and self-control. Why? The Holy Spirit bears witness to God’s Word/wisdom at work, by producing His fruit. Whether in correction or training, our God’s wisdom always, always causes things to work together for the good of the called that love Him:

Hebrews 12:11 (AMP) For the time being no discipline brings joy, but seems sad and painful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness [right standing with God and a lifestyle and attitude that seeks conformity to God’s will and purpose].

There is No Godly Wisdom without Godly Humility
Our God does not give His “graces” to the proud, but to the humble in heart (James 4:6; Psalm 101:5):

Proverbs 22:4 (NLT) True humility and fear of the Lord (the beginning of wisdom) lead to riches, honor, and long life.

Psalm 111:10 (KJV) The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding (spiritual common sense) have all they that do His commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

Our God is Calling for True Humility and Unity
Our God says the children of the world are wiser than the children of light (Luke 16:8). It is sad that people from differing nations, cultures, and languages can work together to enjoy the Olympics, basketball and football games, but the church cannot worship together without infighting, criticizing, competing, comparing themselves to one another. There is none righteous but God, and there are some matters that will not be settled until we stand before Him. We all must to accept the eternal Truth that our God is wiser and stronger than we are, and more than capable of getting us all on the same note and sheet of spiritual music:

Psalm 37:23 (AMP) The steps of a good and righteous man are directed and established by the Lord. He delights in his way and blesses his path.

Godly wisdom and spiritual common sense are available to us for the asking (James 1:5). It would be of great benefit for us to ask our God for His insight and opinion rather that foolishly depending on our own limited sin-tainted understanding. Until we do so individually and corporately, ungodly divisions will continue because of worldly, fleshly, and demonic wisdom.

FATHER GOD
We thank You for Your giving love. You desire that we come behind in no good gift. You desire that we prosper and be in health, as our souls prosper. You withhold no good thing from us. Thank You for Your wisdom, for Your spiritual common sense. Thank You for empowering us to know Your Truth from the lies of the world, the flesh, and the devil. The entrance of Your Word in our hearts and mind yields the light of Your understanding in our lives.

Thank You for Your full counsel. Thank You for silencing the arguments over doctrine that creates the walls and strongholds that divide us. Thank You for breathing on us again, opening our understanding to the Scriptures, to Jesus Christ, and to Your Holy Spirit. Thank You for bringing order and stability, clarity and understanding of Your heart and mind. You have promised the day will come when we will all know You and Your Word. Do all that is in Your heart. We watch for You with earnest expectation of Your glory being revealed.

We pray this prayer in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. We believe we receive as we pray, because we pray according to Your will; therefore we declare, IT IS SO! Amen, amen, and amen!
