Our God’s Word is True and Unfolding Before Us

Romans 6:12-16 (NIV) 12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. 13 Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. 14 For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.

15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means! 16 Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?

Watchmen all over the world, I recently had to separate myself from a very dear friend.  Though my friend would not acknowledge it, it became apparent that this beloved friend had entered into covenant with someone or something, and it was affecting his soul (thinking processes, ability to make autonomous choices, ability to control and monitor one’s emotions).  Our souls can only be kept in perfect peace by faith in and living by our God’s Word and His Holy Spirit’s loving help (grace).

My friend’s thought processes became skewed.  He began to justify wrong, throw up smoke screens of deception and launched a verbal attack when questioned about the changes in his personality.

My friend is generally someone capable of deep thought, discerning, and expression.  Sadly, this person was nowhere to be found.

I spoke truth to my friend and prayed for him; however, I discerned there will be no rescue until he acknowledges where he is and that what he is doing is unacceptable.  He was making the conscious decision to do whatever he was/is doing!

Our God says His desire is that all humanity come to the knowledge of His truth; He has already ransomed the lives of all who choose to believe.

I choose to believe my friend will have a Road to Damascus experience and return to the God of his youth.  I trust our God and so should we all.
